decolonised is an experimental subculture magazine created for women and non-binary people of colour who refuse to be silenced. In an era when truth is stifled and media is increasingly controlled, we exist to carve out space for voices that have too often been pushed to the margins, bringing them unapologetically to the centre.
Founder: Yashi Banymadhub

Yashi Banymadhub is the founder and editor of decolonised, a magazine dedicated to amplifying underrepresented voices and championing uncensored journalism at a time when free expression is increasingly under threat.
A journalist by training, Yashi has written for national publications including BBC Earth and The Independent, where her work has explored science, pressing global issues and human stories often overlooked by mainstream narratives.
Through decolonised, Yashi is building a platform that challenges dominant perspectives, nurtures bold and authentic storytelling, and creates space for voices too often silenced. Her vision is rooted in a belief that journalism should speak truth to power, reflect diverse realities, and remain uncompromising in its commitment to freedom of speech.
